Welcome aboard the Oceania Riviera cruise ship! Come with me as we have a fun flying adventure, navigate the ship embarking process, and settle into the Vista suite onboard.

Waking up bright and early, I grabbed a quick breakfast, packed up my bags, and said goodbye to the mystical and marvelous city of Dubrovnik. A car took us to the airport where we were met with flowers and wine... My mom surprised me with a private plane trip as an extra graduation gift! Since it would be just us flying, the check in process was super fast. Our pilot met us right at our car, someone took our bags all the way through, and we were able to go through the crew security check point. The plane was so cute and my mom and I snacked on some prosciutto and cheese during the short flight to Trieste, Italy.

Once in Trieste, we went through a quick passport check before taking a car directly to the port to get on our cruise. At the port everything went quite smoothly. People took our bags right away and we went through an efficient check-in and security process with incredibly kind staff helping us through.

If you are getting on an Oceania Cruise, make sure to have:

  1. Boarding Passes

  2. Passports

  3. Covid-19 Vaccine Cards

  4. Required Travel or Covid Visas for any port cities

  5. A Face Mask (they may be required in some ports)

Once on the Riviera, we made a quick stop at our assigned gathering location in case of emergency and then headed up to our suite where our bags were waiting. The Vista Suite onboard the Oceania Riviera is a spacious suite that features a large balcony fit with lounge chairs and a jacuzzi, a generous bathroom with a relaxing tub and Bulgari bath products, an exercise room, and a butler to assist you with anything you might need during your trip. The Vista Suites face the front of the ship so there is truly no better view from the ship and the size of the room is quite remarkable, especially for a cruise ship room.

After enjoying some welcome snacks and unpacking, I went to explore the ship and get a light buffet-style lunch from The Terrace restaurant. The ship has a theater, gym, pool, numerous restaurants, and much more for you to enjoy while on board. I then returned to my room for an afternoon siesta, read on the patio, and soon enough it was time to get ready for dinner.

The Grand Dining Room serves a different 4 course menu each night and is a lovely dining option. Our ship was supposed to depart at 7, but due to some thunderstorms in Trieste, we were slightly delayed. To make up the time, our captain was going quite fast but the slight jostling of the ship lulled me to sleep.

Overall, the Oceania Riviera is a wonderful option and is physically a stunning vessel inside and out with incredible staff and amenities. Our voyage will take us from Trieste to Croatia, then to Montenegro, followed by some Greek Islands, and finishes off in Turkey. I can't wait to share more of my journey with you!

Always,

Paris
